Crush them & repurpose them into sparkling prismatic pieces of jewelry — obviously 😂.
This upcycle resulted from multi-generational hand-me-downs — 6 strands of decades-old iridescent string lights that once twirled around a grandmother’s Christmas tree.
Fast-forward to present-day, the bulbs were found crumbled into microscopic death shards at bottom of the Christmas storage bin.
So…I had a thought…& we used this spectrum of glass-glitter to make 2 polished pendants.
Our client says she’s been stopped by dozens of people who ask. “What kind of stone is that?” they’ll ask. “No stone,” she answers, “Just a bunch of broken glass.”
The moral of the story: Never count out the capacity for broken shit to become beautiful.
A good friend lost her beloved pet years ago. The carved box that held her ashes sat bedside ever since.
She’d recently mentioned these tiny urn-like pendants on Etsy — was considering finding a more meaningful way to pay tribute to her furbaby of 16 years.
Together, we came up with an idea, & so began a most sacred project: memorializing the ashes of her beloved friend in a sterling silver pendant that now sits by her healing heart. ❤️
Here are some photos of jewelry with special meaning that we’ve created with clients over the years.
. . . What a wonderful way to appreciate what’s already yours! Let’s repurposing your own items into wearable art.
